PhD Scholarship Opportunity – University of Adelaide

A fully funded PhD position is available in the Herbicide and Antimicrobial Innovation Laboratory at the University of Adelaide, as part of an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project. This opportunity is offered in collaboration with Lesley Cheng (La Trobe University) and is advertised by Professor Tatiana Soares da Costa on LinkedIn.

Project Title : Learning Lessons from Drug Resistance to Tackle Herbicide Resistance

The successful candidate will investigate herbicide resistance by leveraging insights from drug resistance, contributing to efforts to safeguard global food security. The project offers a dynamic, multi-disciplinary research environment and advanced training in biochemistry, molecular biology, and plant science.

Requirements

Open to Australian and international applicants

First-Class Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant field

Demonstrated interest and background in biochemistry, molecular biology, plant science, agricultural science, or biotechnology

English language proficiency (if applicable)

Stipend : AU$35,300 per year (2025 rate, indexed)

Start Date : Before 30 March 2026
