We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and help us push the boundaries of trailer engineering.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and improving our range of trailers and related systems. You will transform customer requirements into robust, manufacturable designs that meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Working closely with our production, procurement, and quality teams, you’ll ensure every trailer that leaves our facility reflects the quality and innovation our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop trailer structures, chassis, suspension systems, and components using CAD software (e.g., Inventor).
- Produce detailed drawings, assemblies, and BOMs for fabrication and assembly.
- Apply principles of structural design, load analysis, and material selection for optimal performance and weight efficiency.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and meet production capabilities.
- Conduct prototype builds, testing, and design validation for durability and compliance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce cost, and streamline production.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NHVR, ADR, ISO, or regional trailer codes).
- Provide technical support for production, field service, and customer-specific projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.2+ years of experience in mechanical or structural design (trailer, automotive, heavy vehicle, or equipment manufacturing preferred).Proficient in 3D CAD modelling and 2D drafting (Autodesk Inventor, or similar).Strong understanding of welded structures, steel / aluminum fabrication, and mechanical systems.Familiar with load calculations, FEA, and mechanical testing methods.Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.Why Join Us?
