What You Will Be Doing

  • As a Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), collect blood and coordinate specimen samples from patients with empathy and a focus on quality healthcare.
  • Keep meticulous records for every patient and sample.
  • Deliver documentation within strict turnaround times.
  • Prepare and package specimens for transport and testing.
  • Liaise with customers, clinic staff and couriers.

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

We value leaders who are Customer Focused, Accountable, Collaborative, Credible & Resourceful. To be successful, you will typically be one of the following :

  • Experienced Pathology Collector, or someone who has gained a Cert III in Pathology Collection and is starting a career in this field.
  • Registered Nurse looking to switch to regular daytime shifts.
  • No experience in Pathology Collection but with a customer service focus and healthcare background, with fully paid training and mentoring available.
  • Required attributes & skills include :

  • Demonstrated Phlebotomy experience or Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a healthcare background.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with a high level of empathy.
  • Organised with strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously, including in solo clinics.
  • Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics.
  • Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident, or NZ citizen, or valid visa with permission to work.
  • Vaccination Requirements

    Vaccine-preventable disease evidence (e.g., Hepatitis B) is a requirement of this role. Additional vaccinations based on location may be required.
