55-2024 First Assistant Secretary (Ses Band 2)

Treasury is seeking dynamic senior executives at the SES Band 2 level with aptitude and enthusiasm to drive Australia's economic agenda and to manage, develop and advise on policies to support the effectiveness and sustainability of Australia's economic environment.

As First Assistant Secretary at Treasury, you will play a vital role in the delivery of our purpose and will leverage your excellent leadership and collaboration skills to set the strategic direction for your division. You will possess exceptional stakeholder engagement capability and capacity to work effectively with the Executive, Ministers and key internal and external stakeholders.

Drawing on your proven professional or senior executive management experience, you will be comfortable operating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse and changeable environment.

• Desirable Qualifications / Experience

Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate :

Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant field including but not limited to, economics, accounting, taxation, law, public policy or business and commerce is highly desirable.

The Treasury has offices in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, with most SES B2 roles based in Canberra.

Treasury will use this process to establish a merit pool that may be used to fill potential vacancies across all areas of Treasury, as required.
