This is very exciting, newly created role at MS Queensland. The Social Worker is a key member of the Allied Health Services team, providing customer-centred care to individuals with MS or other neurological conditions. Reporting to the Clinical Leader, they play a vital role in supporting those Queenslanders who live with MS. The Social Worker works autonomously within a growing team to meet clinical targets effectively.
In this full-time permanent role, work 2 days a week from our brand-new purpose-built workspace nestled at Milton's Park Road, and accessible by multiple public transport options, join a respectful, supportive, transparent, and collaborative team at MS Queensland where values are at the core.
- In this newly created position, you will
- Provide evidence-based assessment, clinical management, and Social Work interventions for individuals with MS and other neurological conditions.
- Manage a diverse caseload with complex needs using a customer-centred approach.
- Understand insurance models, work in teams to meet targets, offer training to clients and families.
- Communicate progress reports, engage in community events for visibility.
- Contribute to quality improvement projects, supervise junior staff when needed.
- Write comprehensive reports tailored to clients' needs and funding sources.
- Stay updated on NDIS regulations for compliance.
- Participate in health education initiatives, attend planning meetings, build connections with external agencies promoting cultural diversity in service delivery.
- About you
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work
- Three or more years of clinical experience as a Social Worker (desirable)
- Clinical experience with progressive neurological conditions advantageous
- AASW membership / eligibility
- Personal professional indemnity insurance

- Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload
- Coaching and mentoring abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, empathy, initiative and computer skills

- NDIS Disability Worker Screening Check Clearance.
- Completion of NDIS Online Worker Training Module.
- Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- A 'C' Class Australian driving license.
