Our QLD Government client is currently seeking an Data and AI Governance Lead to join their organisation. In this critical position you will be responsible for the management and delivery of enterprise business systems, business platforms, data and integration systems, and information management that ensure the organisation's systems, information, solutions, and platforms are designed and managed to meet the departments IT vision and strategy within the areas of responsibility.
This role involves ensuring that data used for AI is managed appropriately, meets quality standards, is compliant with relevant laws and regulations, and is used ethically and safely.
What you will do : Develop strategies and action plans to promote awareness, literacy and encourage investment in opportunities for maturing data and AI governance practices. Drive capability and maturity assessment initiatives to improve data quality and resolve data governance-related issues. Regularly review and update governance protocols and policies to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and technology best practices. Ensure all data and AI projects adhere to ethical guidelines, respect privacy standards, and comply with local and international data protection legislation. Advise on ethical considerations concerning data and AI deployment, ensuring alignment with public values and interests. Monitor data quality, implementing measures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in decision-making processes. Identify and evaluate risks associated with data and AI practices, providing strategic guidance to mitigate potential issues. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote understanding and adherence to data and AI governance frameworks. What you'll bring to the role : A tertiary qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Law, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in data governance, data lifecycle management, AI ethics, or a related area. Proficiency in relevant legislation, such as the Information Privacy Act 2009 (QLD) and other data protection laws. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. HOW TO APPLY :
