Details : The Climate Change, Energy & Water Division (CCEW) is looking for an energetic and well-organised policy officer to help deliver a range of targeted policies that empower the Canberra community to be sustainable, reduce emissions, and be energy efficient.
The ACT remains a national leader in addressing climate change and promoting sustainability. The Climate Change, Energy & Water Division delivers a comprehensive set of policies, programs, and community engagement activities to reach net zero emissions by 2045. This work is done is in collaboration with all sectors including government, non-government, business, community, and households. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Canberra's climate action and have a direct positive impact for the local community.
The Policy Officer we are seeking will have strong analysis and research skills and will analyse and deliver amendments to local energy policy and processes, largely driven by changes to national approaches and frameworks. This will include changes to renewable energy certification and analysis of the ACT's renewable energy targets and approaches. As Policy Officer you will be required to assist with the development of policy within the wider Energy Policy and Innovation team and CCEW.

Desirable
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field would be highly regarded, but not essential. Successful candidates may come from a range of backgrounds.
Note : A merit pool will be established from this selection process that may be used to fill temporary and permanent policy officer vacancies across Climate Change, Energy and Water Division over the next 12 months.
