Full-time PermanentDetails : The Discrimination, Health Services and Disability & Community Services Commissioner (DHSDCS) is seeking a highly motivated Administrative Support Officer (AS03) to join the complaints team.
The complaints team form part of the ACT Human Rights Commission – we are an independent agency established by the Human Rights Commission Act 2005. The role of the ACT Human Rights Commission is to :
Handle complaints in relation to health, disability and community services, abuse of vulnerable people and complaints under discrimination law.Increase awareness of the rights and responsibilities of service users and service providers and encourage service improvement.Provide advice to government and others regarding their human rights obligationsAdvocate for children, young people and adults experiencing vulnerabilityAdvocate for and support victims of crimeAs an Administrative Services Officer you will :
Manage day-to-day administrative tasks relating to office operations including electronic filing, data entry, record keeping, assisting with records and FOI requests.Manage financial records relating to matters including invoices, credit card transactions.Provide high-level confidential administrative support to the Senior Director and the DHSDCS including taking calls, responding to emails and coordinating meetings.Coordinate responses to ad hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders.Provide support to DHSDCS as required, including arranging and contributing to the delivery of community engagement activities such as community information sessions and participation in events.Provide backup for HRC reception and administrative staff.Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the complaints team.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.
