- The Role
Petrofac is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join our team in the Perth office to work on a growing number of projects for a diverse range of clients.
- Key Responsibilities
- Produce schedules in Primavera P6 or MS Project with a high level of detail, describing proposed activities, durations and resources that can be used to form the basis of a proposal estimate or project execution plan.
- Using planning software, and project control procedures define and implement appropriate Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Allocate dates, durations, constraints, logical links, resources, external links as well as maintain and update project schedule(s).
- Progress schedules as defined by the project controls procedure and produce accurate and timely reports for internal and Client review.
- Produce S-curves, manpower summaries and histograms and implement appropriate weightings as per project controls procedures.
- Recognise when a schedule is required to be re-baselined and implement accordingly.
- Update project schedule activity durations and resource allocations as required in conjunction with project cost controller(s) to ensure accurate project forecasting.
- Update project schedule as required to reflect any changes in work scope and proposed work methodologies.
- Develop accurate resource forecasts using schedule to identify ongoing resource requirements.
- Provide input to project reports including required narratives related to achievements, risks, focus items and any corrective actions required.
- Provide input to possible alternative work methodologies (what ifs) and changes to the schedule.
- Setup of the contractural deliverable measurement system, as well as tracking and updating progress achieved, monitoring and updating the forecast deliverable dates in conjunction with the Functional Leads.
- Essential Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor of engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification preferred
- Recognised project planning / scheduling qualifications preferred
- In depth knowledge of Primavera P6 software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Capability to critically review and approve / reject project plans and progress measurement systems
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
- Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to positively influence others and develop strong internal and external relationships
- Good organisational skills and able to keep clear and precise records and quality documentation
