The Skills Reform Taskforce (the Taskforce) is responsible for leading the development of a new Commonwealth-State arrangement, including funding arrangements, new performance metrics and working across Skills Group on reforms to quality, industry engagement, apprenticeships and foundation skills in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
The Taskforce currently consists of three branches to drive forward reforms to improve the transparency of VET funding, as well as work across the Skills and Training Group and other key VET system reforms such as Jobs and Skills Australia. In addition, the Taskforce supports work with states and territories across the Skills Group to develop VET policy that requires state and territory agreement.?
The Skills Reform Taskforce has multiple EL1 positions available, and the roles require highly motivated problem solvers with well-developed strategic policy skills, excellent judgement, the ability to work in a rapidly changing work environment, and strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. The roles require a willingness to work across teams to manage multiple priorities.
A merit pool will be created from this process and may be used to fill similar vacancies that become available.
