Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Assistant Directors on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.
The Department is seeking multiple (up to 10) experienced Assistant Directors at the EL1 equivalent level to join the Research Division.
- Spearheading development of high priority policies and drafting documents to support relevant education legislation being introduced into Parliament
- Responding to requests (including data requests) to assist with policy and costing decisions
- Preparing input and responses to stakeholder enquiries, ministerial correspondence, Ministerial Submissions, Senate Estimate briefs and Question Time briefs
- Project and program management work to support delivery
- Stakeholder engagement
- Experience leading the implementation and delivery of programs in line with grant guidelines, legislation, policy, and procedures
- Lead a team of professionals and the delivery of a program or policy outcome
- Perform independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant program activities and / or project milestones
- Develop and manage project plans, including evaluation reporting
- Anticipate and establish priorities, monitor progress and work to deliver required corporate outcomes, specific agency functions or a program within an area of responsibility.
- Identify and lead innovative solutions and communicate the implications of decisions and actions on the agency's business objectives and stakeholders.
- Identify, manage, and evaluate risk in all decision making and delivery of outcomes.
- Manage a team or work area with diverse skill sets and tasks or manage a larger team where skill sets, and tasks are related.
Coordinate and assume responsibility for complex or sensitive projects or work programs that have strategic, political and / or operational significance.
