To achieve our aims, we recruit the very best people who understand the City exists to enable and deliver the aspirations of the community.The OpportunityAs a Senior Building Designer at the City of Perth, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the design and documentation of capital and operational projects for the City's Buildings team, as well as providing technical advice and recommendations on design, building services, and engineering requirements for building projects.Reporting to the Building Principal within our Infrastructure and Assets team, your responsibilities will primarily include : Planning and coordinating design and documentation requirements for capital and operational projects, in line with the City's project management framework, relevant standards, and building regulations;Providing ongoing support and advice to the project delivery team through to the final completion of construction contracts, ensuring design requirements and intent are realised in the built works;Offering support, professional advice, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to approvals, building design, compliance, sustainability, construction, building services, engineering, and contracts; andManaging appointed external consultants throughout the duration of their contracts, ensuring all services and deliverables are of a high standard and delivered within agreed timeframes and milestones.About YouTo succeed in this role, you will have : A tertiary qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline;Extensive experience and knowledge in the design and construction of buildings and infrastructure;Experience in procurement and the management of multidisciplinary consultant teams; andExcellent organisational skills and sound judgment, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.If your experience and capabilities match these criteria, we welcome your application.Above all, you will live our values of Commitment, Teamwork, Courage and Respect that allow us to come together to lead and support the community.Please view the attached Application Pack to learn more about the role and working at the City.EligibilityTo be eligible to work for us, you will need to demonstrate : A right to work in Australia (e.g.
