PositionProfile : Patient Care Assistants at Bunbury Hospital arepart of the multi-disciplinary team providing high quality patientcare and support. This includes assisting clinical staff(Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health) with patient care andpositioning, transporting patients, delivering and collectingmeals, providing beverages and snacks, collecting equipment andcleaning of clinical and non-clinical areas to meet infectioncontrol, hygiene, audit and aesthetic standards. Patient CareAssistants work across the hospital on wards, in the Theatredepartment, Emergency Department and Mental Health unit.There are AM, PM and Night shifts, and staff can be resourced todifferent areas within the hospital to respond to operationalrequirements of the day.
To besuitable for this role you will ideally have experience in a healthor care environment, good interpersonal skills and be able toprovide culturally appropriate services to patients, clients andvisitors. You will be able to work cooperatively in a teamenvironment and unsupervised, with an ability to identify workablesolutions within the scope of the role. Suitable applicantswill ideally be organised, reliable and punctual and havedemonstrated knowledge of safe cleaning practices and techniques,including infection control procedures.
Cleaningduties include the maintenance of hard floor surfaces and carpets,cleaning of frequently touched surfaces, furniture and fittings,bathrooms and toilets, dusting, re-stocking consumables, linen andrubbish removal. Duties may involve use of floor scrubbers,carpet cleaners, vacuums and other industrial cleaningmachinery.
Eligibility toApply : To be eligible for appointment, applicants musthave a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be anAustralian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live andwork indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments). NoSponsorship will be provided for this role.
