Job description

We currently have an opportunity for a Divisional Program Support Officer. Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.

  • What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including :

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of business processes and administrative practices.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure consistency and timeliness of business operations across the division.
  • Assist with general business administration functions across the division, working closely with leadership teams.
  • Support governance and oversight activities such as managing ministerial submissions and internal reporting.
  • Provide strategic business support through the coordination of executive-level communications, briefings, and documentation.
  • What You'll Bring
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to supporting senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting governance, reporting, and ministerial processes within Defence or a similar organisation.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in preparing executive briefings and formal documentation.
  • Proven experience in strategic business or program management within a Defence SPO or Branch-level setting.
  • You must have and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
