Reporting to the Group HSEQ Manager and playing an integral part in our Group Safety Team, the role of WHS Manager will sit primarily within our
Return-ItDivision.Return-Itgives customers a 10c refund for each can, plastic or glass bottle returned at either Return-It Depots or Return-It Express Points across Australia.About the RoleThe position of WHS Manager has the responsibility to lead, facilitate and implement Work Health and Safety (WHS) for the national footprint of Return-It Pty Ltd.
The WHS Manager role is responsible for providing high level advice and support to senior leaders to reduce the risk of injury and illness at work to achieve the objective of zero harm while ensuring compliance with work health safety and related legislative instruments. Working with Re.Group leaders, the WHS Manager will support the business on identified priorities, including the group-wide implementation of ReAssure, the roll out of the group WHS management plans, and support the improvement of risk minimisation and business continuity plans.
Key AccountabilityManagement of WHS to legislation and national standardsImplement, manage, and improve WHS and Risk Management SystemDevelop and implement the new WHS Governance StrategyRoll out of the national Re.Group Management Plans across the groupImplement, manage, and improve WHS policies, procedures, systems and processes ensuring legislative complianceDevelop and manage the Internal Audit ProgramMonitor and report WHS performance and ensure inspections are completed at all sitesReport and manage all high risk and notifiable incidents internally and externally as required under legislationManagement of communications and relationships with WHSE government regulators - WHSQ, SafeWork ACT, WorkSafe WA, SafeWork NSW including improvement notices, breaches and company responsesDevelop and deliver weekly / monthly reports, providing insights on the WHS performance for operations across the Return-It's national operationsWork with managers to understand the safety training needs for all employees and deliver a schedule of learning solutions to support these needsPartner with internal parties to achieve economical solutions to WHSE challengesBuild and maintain alliances and partnerships with key stakeholder bodies, including government, suppliers and other critical third parties such as COEX, WARRRL for exampleProven ability to lead, design and deliver commercial results across a diverse network of autonomous businesses, each managed by individuals from differing backgrounds and with eclectic skill sets.Extensive experience in planning and delivering strategies.Demonstrate knowledge and demonstrable skills in taking the lead on day-to-day management and operations, planning and building our future, and dealing with challenges and resolving unforeseen problems.Possess strategic thinking, creative solutions orientation, and planning skills and experience - able to see the 'big picture' whilst also possessing an eye for detail.Experience advising senior managers on complex internal and external issues and challenges.Be energised about Re.Group and our future, always considering and bettering our business's experiences.Always operate in a truthful and ethical manner.
