POSITION SUMMARY The Commercial Analyst at Virtual IT Group (VITG) is responsible for delivering financial insight and commercial analysis that supports strategic decision-making, investment planning, and operational performance across the group. This role plays a key part in financial modelling, budget development, investment evaluation, M&A support, and post-integration reviews. Working closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams, the Commercial Analyst ensures that financial strategies are grounded in data-driven insights and aligned to business objectives.

POSITION OUTCOMES Accurate, insightful, and timely financial and commercial analysis to inform strategic decisions.Maintenance of a dynamic and comprehensive group financial model.High-quality board reporting that supports governance and performance monitoring.Effective support for M&A activity, including due diligence and integration reviews.Clear visibility of budget performance, long-term planning, and financial risk.Operational reviews that drive value creation and highlight opportunities for performance improvement.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Take ownership of the group financial model, incorporating operational, financing, tax, and valuation considerations.Undertake financial and commercial assessments to support key investment decisions and ensure target returns.Develop scenario analyses, sensitivities, and investment appraisals as required.2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning Support the development of budgets and long-term financial plans in alignment with strategic goals.Compare actual results to budgets and forecasts, identifying key drivers of variances.Contribute to rolling forecasts and strategic planning processes.3. Commercial Reporting & Board Engagement Assist with the preparation of board papers and executive reports.Provide detailed insights on sales pipeline, customer profitability, product gross margins, and operational costs.Identify opportunities to improve commercial performance through analysis and insight.4. M&A Support & Integration Assist in assessing M&A opportunities, including financial due diligence and modelling.Support post-deal integration reviews to ensure synergies are realised and performance tracked.Contribute to financing structures, including debt arrangements for new investments.5. Operational Review & Strategic Insights Conduct deep dives into business functions to uncover inefficiencies, trends, and opportunities.Support strategic initiatives by delivering commercial input and value-creation analysis.Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of commercial goals across the business.POSITION COMPETENCIES Strong analytical thinking and financial acumen.Commercial awareness and business insight.High attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communicator with strong presentation skills.Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.Collaborative and confident in engaging with senior stakeholders.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.CA or CFA qualification is advantageous but not essential.POSITION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Minimum 3 years' experience in investment banking, Big Four corporate finance, private equity, or a similar environment.Demonstrated experience in complex financial modelling and valuation.Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.POSITION EXPERIENCE DESIRED Experience in transaction due diligence and post-acquisition integration.Familiarity with the technology, IT services, or IT related industries.Please note that successful applicants will be subject to undergo a reference check and submit a police clearance certificate prior to being onboarded with the business.
