Procurement Team Leader - El1

We are looking for an EL1 who can lead and mentor the team, but who also has the procurement experience needed to help business areas navigate the more complex procurements.The EL1 leads a team of five people (four APS6s and one APS5) responsible for providing expert advice and support for the broad range of procurement activities managed by the Department, including :

• Working closely with senior leaders in the Department's business areas to provide strategic advice, guidance and support across a wide range of procurement activities.
• Ensuring internal procurement policies and processes are up to date and in line with the requirements of the procurement framework and broader financial framework
• Mentoring and managing the procurement team.
• Managing the Department's procurement related reporting requirements and training plan.
• Reviewing and preparing briefs for the Senior Executive and internal committees.
• Looking for opportunities to further improve the Department's procurement processes and related guidance.
• Mandatory Skills and Experience
• Applicants must have an active baseline clearance to be eligible for this position.
• Has excellent written, communication, interpersonal skills and has an aptitude for collaboration and negotiation with a broad range of stakeholders within Federal government.
• Facilitating change readiness, has a high attention to detail and a focus on delivery in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to lead and mentor a team.
• Experience in providing accurate and timely procurement advice to staff at all levels, with the ability to communicate with influence when advising departmental officers of their requirements and obligations.
• Motivated, flexible and team-oriented person to lead our procurement support team.
