What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified people wishing to be considered for an Executive Level position as a Coordinator, Cyber Security Operations.
The Coordinator Security Operations reports to the Chief Information Security Officer, Cyber Security & Risk Branch, within the Chief Information Officer Command. The Coordinator Security Operations, provides leadership, coordination and development of staff responsible for operational security and engineering activities including detection, response, prevention and security standards.
The Coordinator Security Operations, will be responsible for developing and leading the below teams :
Vulnerability Management and Cyber Threat Intelligence. Responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, recommending rectification actions, conducting cyber threat intelligence collection, and reporting.
Security Operations and Hunt. Responsible for monitoring and reporting security events and configuring security controls to maintain a secure network.
Incident Response and System Forensics. Responsible for responding to and investigating security events, identifying security controls, conducting forensic artefact collection and malware reverse engineering.
Governance, Compliance and Report Writing. Responsible for auditing AFP systems, ensuring risk controls are implemented and maintaining standard operating procedures, playbooks, and technical reports.
Educator and Staff Awareness. Responsible for developing and delivering staff awareness and ICT administrator training programs.
You will work under the strategic direction of the senior executive and are responsible for the leadership and management of a number of teams to deliver outcomes. They require in depth knowledge and understanding of the AFP business and the impact of roles and functions undertaken in relation to the organisation's reputation to effectively manage operations.
Executive Level employees must also ensure the achievement of outcomes are in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
What will you do?
Under broad directions, the Coordinator Cyber Security Operations will :
Provide high-level expertise to shape the strategic direction of Cyber Security for AFP; and provide relevant advice and leadership to drive organisational and operational cyber security outcomes.
Deliver and maintain effective leadership of cyber security operations, ensuring that all objectives and deadlines are met, supporting staff career development, knowledge sharing and building a highly performing team.
Provide specialist expertise, support, and advice on delivery of key initiatives. This includes conceptualising and leading implementation of the AFP Cyber Security Strategy.
Deliver strategic, responsive, and expert advice and progress reporting to Chief Information Security Officer and key stakeholders.
Support the implementation and optimisation of operational platforms, policies, procedures, and guidelines in related to the Cyber Security Program throughout the AFP.
Effectively and proactively contribute at a senior level to the Cyber Security & Risk branch planning, policies and activities to support achievement of strategic priorities, and, where required, effectively represent the AFP on government wide initiatives.
