Contract start : 27 November 2023, for 12 months with extensions possible. Location : Canberra or Melbourne. The Chief Information Officer Division manages technology solutions within the Agency, including Shared Services ICT services and project delivery.
The Protective and Cyber Security Branch oversees security policies and provides agency-wide security governance, information security, personnel security, physical security, and cyber operations.
The Cyber Operations team handles the identification, response, and remediation of security incidents.
About the Role The Junior Cyber Security Operations Analyst will perform technical cybersecurity activities under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Cyber Security Operations. The role requires expertise in cloud security (Azure / AWS), endpoint and network security, threat intelligence, data loss prevention, vulnerability management, and incident response. The analyst will support the protection of the agency's systems, users, and data, contributing to the objectives of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

Minimum 2 years of experience in IT, software, or cybersecurity, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and quickly learn new technologies. Knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and cybersecurity concepts. Familiarity with log aggregation and SIEM systems. Understanding of Incident Response Frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-61, Mitre).
