About the roleBethany is excited to advertise for the role of Specialist Men's Family Violence Intake Practitioner, based at The Orange Door outpost at Colac Area Health. This position is full time, ongoing, and will provide a service response to clients within Colac and Barwon region.
The Orange Door is an integrated intake pathway to family violence services and family services, keeping the whole family in view, with support tailored to each family member's needs. The Orange Door brings together services as a partnership to support women, children and families and keep perpetrators in view. The Specialist Men's Family Violence Intake Practitioner will work within this multidisciplinary team of practitioners to provide a screening, intake and triage response to men who perpetrate family violence and to support the safety and wellbeing of women and children who experience family violence.
- Key responsibilities
- Respond to intake enquiries including but not limited to telephone, self and L17 portal referrals and secondary consult.
- Deliver screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, target interventions, allocation and coordinated referral.
- Access (as required) information from the Central Information Point (CIP) to enable a stronger risk assessment of male perpetrators of family violence.
- Support the delivery of coordinated and integrated responses to children and families in need of support and to perpetrators of all forms of family violence, drawing on the Integrated Practice Framework, Hub Operational Guidelines, Service Specifications and relevant risk assessment tools and frameworks.
- About you
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of intake, risk assessment and case planning and working with male perpetrators of family violence.
- Demonstrated understanding of men's accountability work.
- Comprehensive understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and the impact for women, children and families.
- Advocates and champions to achieve positive change.
- Demonstrates commitment to social justice and social inclusion.
- Leads a culture of respectful relationships and behaviour across the organisation.
