National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ageing and Aged Care Council ('NATSIAACC') is the national peak body advocating for improved care for Elders and Older People in Australia.
It collaborates with members across the country to ensure culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community-connected support and services.
Our members are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aged care providers and organizations interested in Indigenous-led care, supporting NATSIAACC's objectives.
The organization offers guidance on issues faced by the community and learns from Elders and Older People's wisdom and experience.
About the role : The Chief Executive Officer reports directly to the Board of Directors and oversees strategic direction and organizational management.
The role involves building relationships with funders and partners, including government, non-government, philanthropic, and corporate sectors, and engaging in high-level government discussions to enhance access to aged care services for Indigenous Australians.
Key Accountabilities : Develop and implement high-quality business strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Oversee operational activities to achieve desired results.
Ensure compliance with legislation and organizational policies.
Collaborate with the Board to develop and maintain organizational strategy.
Lead stakeholders, including employees, members, and Elders Council, to identify advocacy priorities and expand influence across Australia.
Qualifications and Experience : Postgraduate qualifications in Business, Commerce, Management, Finance, Health, or relevant fields.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a CEO or equivalent leadership role.
Extensive management experience within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organization.
Understanding of Aboriginal health, culture, and community control principles.
Experience in people management, communications, finance, governance, and strategic planning.
Confirmation of Aboriginality.
Knowledge of aged care policies and issues affecting Indigenous communities.
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to undertake a National Police Check, hold a valid driver's license, and travel interstate.
