The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for managing the maintenance work crew, ensuring equipment is maintained to company standard and tasks are completed within the required timeframe. It is the Workshop Supervisors task to ensure effective day-to-day oversight of the workshop and to relay vital company and site-specific information is the work crew. The Workshop Supervisor ensures team members are working according to company policies and procedures as well as relevant site-specific standards.
This is a FIFO position doing 8&6 with only days shifts!
Position ResponsibilitiesHands on supervision on the job, effective trouble shooting and problem solving to complete tasks to company standards.Keep records up to date for all plant.Update scheduled maintenance register.Get quotes needed for Purchase Requests to procure the required parts for plant.Maintain the required minimum levels of consumable items including service kits.Organize all works for plant that is required as per the daily pre-starts.Supervise works in progress and manage the daily activities of maintenance crew including performance management.Act as point of contact between the operational team and company and client representatives.Effectively represent the company to the working group, model exemplary behaviour and adhere to company guidelines, policies and procedures.Plan and schedule tasks to maximise cost efficiency and utilisation of resources.Check and confirm maintenance schedule is followed and routine checks are conducted as required.Ensure equipment is always maintained to a high standard and in good working condition before being utilised.Address discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.Lead by example especially in setting the benchmark for Health, Safety and Environment performance and pride in workmanship.Lead daily pre-start meetings regarding maintenance.Confirm that pre-starts, JHA's, Take 5's, Hazard Reports, Incident Reports are completed in line with company or site-specific policies and procedures for the maintenance team.Roll out company policies and procedures and ensuring these are adhered to.Conduct daily workshop safety inspections and weekly field safety inspections.Provide feedback on work progress, issues, variations, etc.Provide the necessary information required for invoicing and completion of purchase requisitions.Ensure that work crew are adhering to all company policies and procedures.Sign and approve timesheets.Support the Site Manager and Project Manager to deliver the project within the required timeframe and budget.Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental ResponsibilitiesEnsure understanding and maintained commitment and adherence to corporate and statutory Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental requirements.Carry out duties in alignment to the Company's Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental and policies and associated procedures and site-specific safety policies and procedures.Identify safety and environmental hazards in the working environment and eliminating or controlling them within the scope of your ability and authority.Report safety and environmental hazards that you are unable to eliminate or control to your immediate Supervisor / Manager for action.Report any incident, near miss or injury that you are involved in or are aware of to your immediate Supervisor / Manager.Report any physical injury or damage to your health and have it assessed and treated by the Company authorised First Aid Officer / Site medicParticipate and assist in achieving Company safety and environmental initiatives, goals, objectives and targets.Be proactive in recommending or assisting MGPL in achieving their recycling or sustainability initiatives.Report any property damage or environmental harm to your Supervisor / Manager.Follow Company management system work instructions issued to reduce safety and environmental hazards whilst performing work.Seek further instruction from Supervisor in any circumstances where you are unsure of the correct and safe method of work to follow.Avoid doing anything that could place your own or fellow workers' safety or health at risk.Selection CriteriaQualifications and RequirementsAt a minimum, a valid C Class Western Australian or interstate equivalent Drivers licence with no restrictions.Hold valid nationally recognised heavy duty machinery maintenance certificate.Demonstrated competency in heavy duty machinery maintenance, in depth understanding of requirements and equipment.Experience in supervisory or leadership position.WA Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card).A working knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)Successfully complete a comprehensive heal
