Join our team of dedicated Virtual Health Clinicians and play a vital role in supporting Australians with their health concerns through the Healthdirect Helpline, also known as Nurse-on-Call in Victoria. Whether callers are unsure if they should see a doctor or manage their condition at home, you will provide the guidance they need. The Healthdirect Helpline is open 24 / 7, offering health-related advice over the phone. This includes :
- Providing health information and assessing symptoms.
- Conducting comprehensive telephone assessments.
- Recommending the appropriate time and place of care.
- Referring callers to other services such as the GP Helpline, Urgent Care Clinics, and Virtual Emergency Departments.

About You
You are a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse, driven by a passion for delivering exceptional virtual care. You want to make a difference by providing early, appropriate support to Australians with their healthcare needs and reducing avoidable strain on emergency services by connecting consumers to the right care at the right time, the first time.
To be successful in this role, you'll need :
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse for a minimum of 3 years.At least 3 years of full-time (or equivalent) clinical experience within the last 5 years as a Registered Nurse.A varied nursing background involving substantial public contact. Inclusive of, but not limited to complex primary health, acute medical, or emergency department settings.Confidence in applying critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-pressure situations across all age groups and clinical presentations.Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal : ability to communicate with compassion and professionalism. You will be interacting with external services and serving vulnerable population groups with high rates of mental health issues, limited English proficiency, elderly and poor health literacy.A high affinity with using computer systems, including telehealth platforms, databases, and digital communication tools.Enjoy making a difference in a flexible, home-based environment.Must be located within Australia.Key Details
