KTrans are a Western Australian family owned and operated transport and logistics business operating from our modern facilities across multiple locations in Kenwick, Welshpool, Kwinana and the Pilbara with a focus of providing quality end-to-end transport, warehousing and logistics solutions for our business partners.

With our continued growth we are seeking a highly capable and experienced Head of Transport and Logistics to lead all aspects of our transport and logistics operations. This role is critical to the continued success of the KTrans business, managing the safe and efficient delivery of our contract logistics and fleet operations, ensuring compliance with national transport regulations, and driving new commercial opportunities all whilst aligning to the KTrans Five Pillars Values of DISCIPLINE | LOYALTY | ACCOUNTABILITY | HONESTY | PRIDE.

As part of our Senior Leadership Team you will be responsible for guiding our Operations and Logistics teams to provide best in class service to our tier 1 clients while also assisting in shaping the future of the KTrans business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and optimise the performance of the Transport and Logistics division.

Lead Customer engagement activities and contractual performance

Oversee day-to-day operations of the Transport and Logistics functions

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, particularly CoR and NHVR regulations.

Build and maintain a strong pipeline of external transport opportunities.

Develop and implement systems, processes, and technology to improve performance across our business

Cultivate industry relationships and networks to enable new business development and diversificatio

Drive a safety-first culture throughout the transport and logistics team.

Prepare and manage transport budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting.

Coach and mentor a multi-functional team to deliver high quality service.

Work closely with the EGM to align transport strategy with broader business objectives.

Key Requirements

Minimum 10 years’ experience in transport and logistics operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Extensive experience managing large fleets, with specific expertise in multi-faceted supply chains

Demonstrated understanding and application of the Australian transport regulations, including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR legislation.

Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to generate new revenue streams outside of internal operations.

Demonstrated capability in systemising and scaling transport operations for growth, whilst operating in an efficient manner with a focus on high utilisation of our quality people and assets.

Outstanding leadership and team management skills, with a hands-on and solutions-focused approach.

Previous customer management experience working in transport, mining or heavy industries.

High level of autonomy, initiative, and accountability.

Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry certifications (desirable).
