- Position Summary
- Install, repair and troubleshoot marine related refrigeration and climate control (HVAC) systems
- Key Responsibilities
- Health, Safety, Environment, Quality
- Identify and mitigate safety hazards.
- Ensure compliance with PPE policies and safe working procedures.
- Participate in safety training and environmental risk assessment.
- Commit to sustainable use of natural resources.
- Production
- Process and complete internal and external customer work orders.
- Read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
- Conduct installations of refrigeration and air-conditioning piping and equipment in accordance with on-site design, plans and specifications to Australian Standards.
- Conduct pressure testing, evacuate and charge refrigeration systems.
- Problem solve, dismantle and repair malfunctioning refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
- Field running, testing and commissioning of completed refrigeration systems.
- Test, repair and connect wiring to electric power source within electrical license restrictions.
- Replace worn seals, outer shells and worn-out motors.
- Keep abreast of technological advances within refrigeration and advise on recommended equipment upgrades and alternate units where practical.
- All other additional tasks that may be assigned by the Company from time to time, within the employee's scope and capabilities.

- Essential Selection Criteria
- Refrigeration trade certificate.
- Refrigerant handling license.
- Minimum 3-5 years marine refrigeration experience.
- Minimum 4.5 result (IELTS) English Literacy Test
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings.
- Demonstrated marine refrigeration techniques.
- Braising / soldering skills (preferred)
- Physical Requirements
- Able to lift 10-20 kilograms.
- Manoeuvre in confined spaces and work at heights.
- Work in hot and noisy environments.
- Hours of Duty
- Monday to Thursday : 7 : 00 am - 3 : 15 pm
- Friday : 7 : 00 am - 2 : 30 pm
This opportunity is open to South Africans willing to relocate to Perth, Australia. Sea Harvest Group covers all travel and relocation costs.
