What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Member Data Centre Operations - Chief Information Officer (CIO) Command.

CIO provides critical integrated, secure and effective information and communications systems and services to the AFP. This role is assigned to the Support Working Pattern.

The Data Centre Operations (DCO) team manages and maintains the AFP's underlying Mission Critical Infrastructure across all their secure environments, both nationally and globally. This responsibility extends across all layer one disciplines starting with power and cooling right through to Structured Cabling, Environmental Monitoring, and Security control down to the Rack level. This critical service not only supports CIO information and communications infrastructure but also plays a vital part in supporting all AFP Operations.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

• As a critical member of the DCO team you will be required to
• Act as the interface between CIO contractors and employees responsible for, projects, the maintenance and operation of the facilities such as the electrical and mechanical systems, security systems, and all other aspects of Server Room facility operation, and including collaboratively working with the Cloud Services and Network Teams when it comes to Hardware;
• As part of a team; manage the physical operation and maintenance of the AFP'S Mission Critical Infrastructure (Electrical, Mechanical, Structured cabling, Fire, and Physical infrastructure i.e. Racks and Key Safes);
• Facilitate zero downtime operation by identifying and eliminating potential points of failures / risk;
• Promote reliable performance and maintenance of primary and backup power supply systems, power distribution, computer room air conditioning, fire suppression, VESDA, and security systems for the facilities by ensuring adherence to National, International and Industry standards;
• Assist in the development, and testing of the AFP Maintenance plan to make certain all maintenance levels and procedures as outlined are met, and performed;
• Oversee the design and implementation of all future upgrades specific to the AFP's Server Room facilities, in particular the Mechanical / Electrical infrastructure;

In consultation, select the appropriate location for new and replacement equipment and work with the various CIO Infrastructure Teams to define power and environmental requirements, and oversee equipment installation and testing; and

Manage and deliver infrastructure repairs to all small to large scale projects specific to the Data Centres.

Essential Requirements

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a like or related field.

Trade background in Air-Conditioning / Electrical with licenses.

Relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.
