An exciting and unique position has arisen for an experienced, self motivated and dedicated professional to utilise their experience in the specialist area of Sexual Health and contribute to a statewide patient care and public health service. The Adelaide Sexual Health Centre plays an integral part in the South Australian STI Control and is concerned with reducing the impact of disease through clinical service provision, development of clinical protocols, training of health care workers, sentinel epidemiologic surveillance and research.
Advanced Trainees / Senior Registrars are based at the Adelaide Sexual Health Centre and will assess, diagnose and manage clients appropriately in accordance with good patient care and control program objectives. You will contribute to the provision of high standard clinical service, as well as undertake teaching / training at undergraduate, postgraduate and community levels. In addition, you will actively participate in research and development and contribute to the enhancement of existing epidemiological programs.
Registered with AHPRA in Australia as a medical practitioner, you will hold, or be progressing towards, a post graduate qualification relevant to Sexual Health or Public Health. With demonstrated experience in one or more relevant areas, you will have exceptional relationship building and interpersonal skills, be able to establish and maintain empathy, integrity and confidentiality with issues of a sensitive or personal nature and with people from diverse value systems, cultures and special needs. Previous experience in teaching and research is valued, experience in quality improvement activities is essential. Proficient in self management and work organisation skills, you will demonstrate clinical competency in medical practice and bring a commitment to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
