One of our clients are currently looking for an Indigenous Trade Assistant to join their team. As a Trades Assistant, you will be responsible for helping and supporting tradespeople and assisting with maintenance of workshop and equipment. Under direct supervision of a Designated Supervisor, the Trades Assistant will need to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance duties requiring limited knowledge of various trade skills such as fabrication, cleaning, painting etc.
Duties and Skills to include (but not limited to)
Assist in the maintenance, operation and repairs of electrical, mechanical and structural systems of buildings and utility distribution.May assist tradesman by performing duties related to mechanical or electrical work, machinists trades, etc.Assist in the fabrication of equipment and materials constructed in accordance with project requirements.Operate power tools and equipment.Assist with general repairs and maintenance.General cleaning and organising of workshop.Receiving and dispatching of goods.Comply with all Workplace Health and Safety Legislation.Show a high regard to personal safety and the safety of workmates ensuring your work area is tidy and free of hazards.Comply with safe work procedures.Transportation of materials, tooling equipment, and general freight for projects; must hold a valid MR licence.
