Infrastructure Engineer

Salary : AUD130 - AUD150 per hour + Negotiable

Canberra City with some WFH

6 month contract + possible extensions

Baseline Security Clearance required

Our client, a large and well-funded Federal Government entity, is seeking a Data Centre Operations Specialist to join their team in May.

Responsibilities :

Oversee managing daily operations of the primary Data Centre, including UPS and AC monitoring.

Handle rack management, cabling, and space optimization; coordinate with vendors for maintenance, upgrades, and compliance; monitor system performance and utilization through systems like vROPs and EcoStruxure DCO / DCE.

Enforce security and best practice frameworks to ensure optimal uptime.

Support a project to upgrade on-premises data centre infrastructure, acting as a key technical resource, with project management and installation by third parties.

Criteria :

Experience in daily Data Centre operations, including rack management and cabling.

Ability to coordinate with vendors for maintenance, upgrades, and compliance.

Proficiency in monitoring system performance via tools like vROPs and EcoStruxure DCE / DCO.

Knowledge of security frameworks such as Essential 8 and PSPF, up to a Protected level.

Experience with Data Centre upgrades involving AC and UPS systems.

Ability to research and analyze current market offerings and provide technical insights.

Capability to produce design, build, and operational documentation for processes and procedures.
