Summary of RoleThe role of Staff Specialist Palliative Medicine works within the HammondCare Mission in Action to ensure that the Braeside Hospital Palliative Care service provides safe, evidence-based quality care.
This is a permanent part-time 24 hours per week position based at Braeside Hospital.
The essence of this roleProvide demonstrably high-quality specialist Palliative Care servicesTo maintain personal professional competence in Palliative CareTo work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing the Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action of HammondCareUndertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors, and undertake research in Palliative Care as opportunities presentSelection CriteriaCommitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in ActionMBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of AustraliaApplicants must have Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians or have provisionally completed specialist training and is eligible to be recognised as a specialist within 6 monthsCredentialed experience in multidisciplinary specialist practice in inpatient, consultative, and community settingsDemonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and clinical risk management, actively seek out improvements to service delivery, initiate change and consult those affected by the change, allocate resources and proactively manage potential conflictsDemonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with effective communication skillsDemonstrate participation in ongoing professional development and a commitment to education and research and evidence-based practiceCurrent Driver's LicenceClosing date : 14th September 2024HammondCare is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and inclusion.
