About the program

Be a part of the team that helps children with disabilities be included and participate in the kindergarten program.

We are currently recruiting for Additional Assistants in the Bass Coast and Baw Baw local government areas only.

The Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS) program helps create inclusive environments for all children including those with disabilities, developmental delays, or complex medical needs.

We are now looking to build our team of casual and part-time Additional Assistants for school term placements in 2025 within funded kindergarten programs in childcare services.

In this role, you will work closely with Early Childhood Educators and Teachers to enable children to access and participate in their Kindergarten program.

Placement opportunities are available in the areas of Bass Coast and Baw Baw local government areas.

Your new role

There are a variety of shifts available. A kindergarten placement typically involves 7.5 to 15 hours per week during the school term. Hours vary between 8 : 15am and 5pm depending on each kindergarten service. There may be opportunities to undertake a second placement depending on availability.

You will receive a comprehensive induction and access to ongoing supervision and support from the Kindergarten Inclusion Support team.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for motivated self-starters who like using their initiative and feel confident to work in a new team and work environment.

Ideally, you will have some experience working in a Kindergarten and may have your Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care. You may also have a background working with children with all abilities.

What you will demonstrate is good communication skills and be a team player, you will have worked with children in some capacity and have the computer skills to navigate and access our systems to submit requests and participate in our organisation.
