What you will do Conduct open-source research to support national security investigations. Analyse Chinese-language material to identify potential risks and trends. Prepare high-quality written reports and assessments. Apply strong data literacy and analytical skills to extract and communicate insight. Collaborate with internal and external partners on priority national security programs. Contribute to strategic advisory engagements that contribute to Australia's national interest. Who you are Professional proficiency in reading Chinese (ILR3+, HSK 6 or equivalent). Demonstrated experience in analysis, research, or advisory - or an ability learn quickly. High levels of curiosity, critical thinking and attention to detail. A current Australian Government security clearance (NV1 / NV2), or an ability and willingness to obtain one. While not a mandatory requirement, proficiency in Python, R or similar coding languages would also be welcomed.
