An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist - Court Liaison Officer to join the Department of Health.

Please note this position is also being advertised as a Court Liaison Officer (600612) and only one position will be filled on merit. Please note this position is eligible for a Multi-Disciplinary Allowance. The Role : As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality forensic mental health services and in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Court Liaison Officer will :

Provide assessment, intervention and referral services to individuals at the beginning of the criminal justice system. Provide specialist liaison and consultation about mental health matters and management of associated problems to Magistrates, Solicitors, Police and Community Corrections staff at the Courts. Unique opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary team being part of Forensic Mental Health while working across the court system in Devonport and Burnie. You will be a part of a small and highly specialised and supportive team. Details of appointment : Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary : $106,570 - $112,440 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023. You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Correctional Allowance of 6.5%. Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.

Benefits available to eligible candidates : Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees. Professional development and accelerated pathways. Excellent leave benefits : 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible. Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health / psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, a hospital based training program that resulted in previous registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse registration authority within Australia, New Zealand or the United Kingdom.

  • Registration / licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration / licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration / licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
