This role supports the delivery of quality child facing entertainment and distraction programs and initiatives including Kidzone playroom, Loans, Bedside Play, and supports the Foundation's in-kind donation program.This is a part-time role, 8 : 30am - 5 : 00pm, 3 days per week (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) and is based at Queensland Children's Hospital.
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.Working closely with the Entertainment Programs Manager and the boarder Impact team, you will be responsible for : Supporting the daily operational requirements of our Kidzone playroom.Providing support to children and families accessing our Kidzone playroom.Ensure Kidzone child minding is delivered within care restrictions and is considerate of children with higher needs.Supporting the delivery of our Loans, Bedside Play and gifting.Recording and maintaining data.Supporting the training and daily coordination and performance of program volunteers.Encouraging a positive culture amongst staff and volunteers demonstrated by leading by example.Who are you?Someone who is child focused and committed to improvement for others and themselves.A team player who enjoys collaborating with and supporting others.You are passionate about making a real impact in the lives of sick kids.A warm and engaging person with a high level of emotional IQ, able to read a room and confidently interact with persons from all walks of life.You possess level of comfort to recognise and hold space for the emotive environment of a tertiary healthcare facility.Action orientated, not fearful of trying new things and enjoy responding to a fast-paced environment to complete tasks on time.Key criteriaTo be successful in this role, you will possess the following : Qualification in role related discipline is preferred but not essential.Experience in delivering social wellbeing programs and services in the healthcare, childcare or family service community.Experience in creating and running children's activities and providing supervision to multiple children.Experience with working with children and young people living with a disability.Experience in roster management.A strong understanding of professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality.Confidence in managing children's behaviours without bias.Comfortable and confident working in a fast paced, and at times, overstimulating environment.Experience in working with and guiding volunteers.Ability to use Microsoft Office suite and the use of web-based platforms, to undertake administration tasks relevant to the role.Confidence in using technology.What is our difference?When you join the team, you're not just doing another 'job'.
