Senior Policy and Planning Officer 13837 The Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) acknowledges the Aboriginal people throughout Western Australia as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands, waters, and communities in which we operate. About Office of Multicultural Interests The Office of Multicultural Interests works to achieve the full potential of multiculturalism in Western Australia. This requires strategies that encompass the whole community, including business and industry groups, government and non-government agencies, culturally diverse communities and the wider community. It works with these communities to support and promote equity and accessibility.

About the role Are you passionate about working in the multicultural sector? Supporting inclusive policies and strategies across government? Do you enjoy analysis and reporting? We are seeking a motivated and experienced person to fill the position of a Senior Policy and Planning Officer in our Office of Multicultural Interests division.

We have one permanent, full time (75hrs p / f) position available. Part-time and job-sharing arrangements may be considered for the right candidate(s).

As Senior Policy and Planning Officer you will :

  • Develop and monitor legislation, policies and programs regarding multicultural interests
  • Analyse and report on the impact of these policies across WA
  • Provide advice on programs and proposals from public sector agencies that impact these interests.

You will often be part of working groups and liaise with a range of government stakeholders, community and not for profit sector organisations therefore candidates with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships are strongly encouraged to apply.
