As Senior Policy Advisor - Quality & Research, you will play a key role in shaping aged care policy and improving outcomes across residential, home and community care, and seniors housing.
You will contribute to :
Strategic research initiativesPolicy analysis and submissionsStakeholder and government engagementEvidence-based advocacy that elevates member voicesKey responsibilities include :
Leading and supporting sector research projects focused on quality outcomes in aged care, community care, and retirement living.Analysing data and developing reports that provide insights into sector trends, priorities, and opportunities.Drafting high-quality policy submissions, position statements, and discussion papers aligned with Ageing Australia’s strategic objectives.Monitoring aged care, health, and disability policy developments and provide timely, evidence-based responses.Engaging with members and stakeholders to gather insights, promote collaboration, and influence reforms.Representing Ageing Australia in forums and consultations, ensuring the voice of the sector is heard.Collaborating with internal teams on communications, media content, and member engagement.Supporting delivery of externally funded projects, ensuring outputs are timely and aligned with goals.Promoting a culture of excellence and respect, aligned with Ageing Australia’s values.About you :
To be successful in this role you will have :
Relevant graduate and / or post graduate tertiary qualifications in a social policy, research, or other relevant field.An understanding of aged care policy, health policy and / or disability policy, and current issues impacting the aged care industry, or significant transferable public policy experience.An appreciation of the political system and its policy processes.Excellent research, analytical and writing skills with demonstrated ability to draft concise policy briefings and submissions.The ability to conduct and lead research projects on health and aged care policy. Demonstrated ability to translate and communicate the key messages to a variety of audiences.Experience in developing position statements, research reports, discussion papers or other public-facing advocacy documentsExperience in analysing the merit of public policy proposals in government, independent authorities, think tanks, health or aged care related organisations, or membership organisations.Confident communication style and demonstrated experience in stakeholder consultation.Strong work ethic and work history that would evidence commitment to Ageing Australia values and a genuine passion for aged care.We require a federal police check as an essential selection component for this role, please consider this requirement when submitting your application.
