Wood is currently recruiting for a Technical Safety / Process Safety Engineer to join our team in Perth, Western Australia as part of its Operations APAC (West) business.

Wood's Operations business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the energy (oil and gas) & materials sectors within the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The APAC Region enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent energy producers, actively supporting operations in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and Kazakhstan. Responsibilities

In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Technical Safety Engineering Manager and be working across FEED / Execution. Your focus will be on :

performing formal safety assessment (FSA) studies providing support for risk-based decision-making, applying knowledge of safety in design principles to the design / modification of petroleum production / processing facilities ensuring compliance with safety regulations in all aspects of process safety design

Qualifications

Suitably qualified with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from a recognised institution, ideally, you will have relevant experience in safety engineering for petroleum production / processing facilities within Australia and preferably on brownfields projects.

You must be an Australian citizen OR hold Permanent Residency (PR) OR be able to work lawfully in Australia to be considered for this opportunity. If you reside outside of WA, temporary relocation assistance is available to candidates who can demonstrate proven and relevant experience in a similar role.

In Addition, You Will Have

3 or more years of experience in formal safety assessment (FSA) studies, risk-based decision-making and the design / specification of safety critical equipment and systems Knowledge of safety regulations and applicable industry codes / standards Excellent report writing and oral communication skills Strong analytical and numerical skills Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment A "solutions mindset" and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
