Job Description At Downer Professional Services (DPS), we work on complex and meaningful Defence, government, and infrastructure projects that shape Australia's future.

Our people are at the heart of what we do, bringing expertise, innovation, and leadership to critical programs.In support of our business units, Mission Engineering, Advisory and Technical Services, and Team Downer as the prime Major Service Provider (MSP) we deliver above the line consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, including groups (Defence Digital Group (DDG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), the services (Navy, Army and Air Force).We are continually seeking skilled Commercial Managers, Commercial Specialists, Procurement Managers, Procurement Specialists, Business Analysts, and Procurement Support Officers for our consulting services and Integrated Work Packages.

If you're driven to make a meaningful impact and interested in future opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.If successful in securing a role, your work may involve : Leading the development, review, and implementation of complex commercial strategies and procurement plans.Providing expert advice on contract management, supplier engagement, and risk mitigation.Supporting procurement negotiations, ensuring compliance with ASDEFCON and Defence procurement frameworks.Managing procurement and commercial activities to ensure best-value outcomes for Defence and government clients.Working closely with senior stakeholders to drive commercial and strategic initiatives.Our work is highly complex and confidential, applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance.

Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary.

In some cases, this may impose restrictions on individuals with dual nationality, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.We're seeking candidates with Defence Industry experience in the following areas : Strong experience in commercial management, procurement, or contract negotiations within Defence, government, or professional services.Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPPM, MBA or equivalent).Proven expertise in ASDEFCON contracting, procurement governance, or supplier negotiations.The ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Strong communication skills, with an analytical mindset and a solutions-driven approach.
