A large IT services company in Canberra is actively seeking a Project Support Officer for a permanent position. The Project Support Officer will be responsible for assisting with overall management, coordination and reporting of individual project within the Project. This role offers a hybrid working model with 1-2 days in the office and the rest WFH.
- Responsibilities include
- Providing support to the Project Manager as required;
- Supporting the Project Manager with implementing, maintaining and improving project management frameworks, including plans and tools to ensure effective management of scope, cost, procurement, schedule, risk, resources, performance monitoring, benefits realisation (test and evaluation), communication, information and integration / stakeholder engagement;
- Maintaining program and project planning tools in consultation with relevant stakeholders;
- Forecasting resource requirements and updating budget (is very important and critical);
- Risk identification, analysis, control and monitoring;
- Maintaining the Program Risk Register including escalation of risk management decisions as required;
- Supporting industry engagement and commercial procurement activities as required; and
- Supporting Defence responsibilities as required.
- Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- NV-1 clearance required.
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Support Officer.
- Experience or the ability to quickly acquire working knowledge of the Defence Capability Life Cycle and the related governance requirements.
- Ability to implement Project Management methodologies.
- Ability to work in blended team environment.
- Experience or ability to quickly acquire working knowledge sustainment arrangements in the Defence context.
- Experience with Capability Life Cycle and governance requirements.
- Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Understanding of the Defence Security Principles Framework, Public Key Infrastructure, and cyber worthiness principles.
- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, software development methodologies (such as Agile and Dev Ops), test and evaluation in development operations, ICT governance frameworks and maintenance and operations environments.
