As a Stakeholder and Aboriginal Engagement Advisor you will play a leading part in the next steps developing our Aboriginal community engagement offering to clients. You will be part of a dynamic local team, backed by our National Indigenous Services Team and GHD's Indigenous Staff Network.
Working with the
Consultation team, Traditional Owners, and Key Aboriginal Stakeholdersthis exciting opportunity will include :Advising on and undertaking best practice engagement with Aboriginal communities and Traditional Owners in Western AustraliaMaintaining positive client and key stakeholder relationships including Traditional Owners and culturally and linguistically diverse communitiesCreating a business plan, identifying opportunities for working in partnership with Traditional Owners, and supporting involvement with decisionsDelivering client work - advising on and implementing engagement strategies for a range of clients including Government authorities, major infrastructure projects (e.g. road, rail)Preparing high quality written communication material including proposals, reports and client deliverablesUndertaking community and engagement activities by blending traditional and digital techniquesSupporting Project Managers to deliver quality projects on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of internal and external clients.We want to ensure you succeed in this roleTo do so, you will possess :A solid understanding of Aboriginal culture, society and an understanding of the historical and contemporary issues impacting on the Western Australia Aboriginal communityStrong connections to the Aboriginal community in Western Australia3-10+ years of proven experience working with Western Australian Aboriginal communitiesExcellent inter-personal skills with an ability to foster teamwork and work with multi-disciplinary teams across the organisationInitiatives to actively seek to improve programs and services, offer new and different options to solve problems and meet client needsWillingness to learn and keep abreast of new developments in the field and develop own technical skillsExcellent written and oral communication skills and provide accurate information in client reporting and tender submissionsAbility to work autonomously, prioritise multiple projects and meet deadlinesSound judgement and decisivenessAdvanced computer skills, including proficiency in use of Office suiteA tertiary qualification in Planning, Communications, Social Sciences, Arts (Communications) or related Social Sciences, such as the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2), is preferred.Contact Antonia Tomassone61 8 6222 8631There may be government or client requirements which require an up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination for this position.
