Position Overview :
We’re on the lookout for a high-performing State Operations Manager to lead and inspire our New South Wales team.
Reporting directly to the General Manager NSW, this is a critical leadership role that calls for strong communication, hands-on management, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without losing focus. You’ll oversee a team of dedicated Business Managers and manage operations across a diverse portfolio of sites, covering a wide geographic footprint.
This role isn’t just about keeping things running, it’s about raising the bar. You’ll be the driving force behind service delivery across a range of high-profile corporate, retail, and government clients. Your focus will be on operational excellence, people leadership, and client satisfaction, all while spotting new ways to improve efficiency, build strong relationships, and grow our presence in the state.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage state operations, overseeing business managers and a large client portfolio.
Ensure high standards in operations, quality and safety are maintained.
Proven ability to lead and support teams across multiple sites, ensuring strong performance and morale
Strong client liaison and relationship management skills, with a focus on retention and satisfaction
Demonstrated success in achieving financial targets, including revenue and profit margins
Solid understanding of P&L, labour management, and workforce planning
Skilled in building and managing cost-effective, compliant rosters across diverse sites
Confident using Microsoft Office and operational systems, including payroll and scheduling platforms
Able to interpret and apply awards and industrial instruments to real-world staffing needs
Experienced in performance management, including investigations, reporting, and staff development
Proactive in sourcing new business opportunities and supporting proposals and tenders
Calm and reliable under pressure, including in emergency situations and after-hours response
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a client-focused approach
Actively manage contractors and build new relationships to meet project demands.
Required Skills and Qualifications
3+ years in a management role, ideally in security, events, logistics, or facilities
Proven experience managing teams across multiple locations
Strong communication and negotiation skills with a client-focused approach
Confident using Microsoft Office and operational software platform
Solid understanding of P&L and workforce planning principles
Ability to interpret and apply awards and industrial instruments
Experience handling performance management, investigations, and reporting
Skilled in building cost-effective, compliant rosters
Calm and responsive under pressure, especially in emergency situations
Desirable Attributes
2–3 years’ experience in a similar role in the security industry
Innovative and solution-focused mindset
Ability to work flexibly under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, or a related field (desirable but not essential)
