Permanent Full Time_Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight_70,440 per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 4 + Site Allowance) + Superannuation_Location - Mt Morgan _Your new role_Are you looking for an opportunity where you can contribute to preserving and nurturing our local Parks, Gardens and open spaces? Parks are currently looking for a passionate Gardener to join the team Mt Morgan team.
On a day to day basis you will complete general maintenance of parks, gardens, reserves, road reserves and streetscapes, including but not limited to mowing, whipper snipping weeding, mulching, blowing, spraying, irrigation, planting trees and shrubs and labouring. Use your knowledge of horticulture and pesticides to control weeds, pests and diseases and carry out plant propagation as required.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
- What we are looking for_
- Knowledge and experience in horticulture and open space maintenance in a large public park or garden environment.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain small machinery including but not limited to tractors, mowers, brush cutters, chain saws, blowers and other plant.
- A motivated, proactive, self-starter with a passion to deliver quality horticulture works.
- Someone who enjoys and is capable of physical and outdoor work.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to carry out your duties in a safe manner whilst ensuring the safety of your team members and public.
- Highly desirable : MR Truck licence, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform and Chainsaw ticket.
