Staff Specialist Rehabilitation

The Role

Contribute to the delivery of exceptional clinical services, catering to the medical and rehabilitation requirements of older individuals, and champion the provision of comprehensive healthcare for the elderly across Central Queensland. You will

• Demonstrate effective leadership by adhering to evidence-based practices, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the patient's care journey.
• Fulfill responsibilities encompassing clinical care for both inpatients and ambulatory patients, including potential after-hours and on-call duties.
• Offer specialised insights on medical cases in the Emergency Department as needed, actively participating in patient flow and bed capacity management.
• Provide supervision to an inpatient treating team when circumstances necessitate.

The Facility

The Geriatric and Rehabilitation Services (GARS) offers a range of interdisciplinary services, both inpatient and ambulatory, through its purpose-built 16-bed facility situated in the designated area. The Rehabilitation Physician will collaborate closely with key leaders in the multidisciplinary team, such as the Nurse Unit Manager and the Program Coordinator.
