This is a key regional facility that provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care by local general practitioners to specialist surgical, obstetric, paediatric and anaesthetic services delivered by medical consultants. The facility delivers services to over 94,000 people and a further 175,000 people annually at country emergency departments. Their network incorporates 65 hospitals and 240 health services sites, and employs 7,925 people. The Service is the largest hospital in rural South Australia and has been identified in the Government's 'Plan for Country Health' as one of the four general hospitals which will provide treatment for country people closer to home.
You will work within a fantastic multidisciplinary team environment, contributing to the provision of high standard clinical services to patients of the Health Service. As the ED Registrar, you will be responsible for managing the care of all patients in consultation with the Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals. In this key role, you will be actively involved in continuous quality improvement activities, as well as participate in continuing education activities. You will also be given the opportunity to work in the other areas of the hospital, namely anaesthetics and medical ward whilst under appropriate supervision.
You must have a minimum of AHPRA Specialist Registrar or be eligible for.
New Zealand FACEM experience or recently qualified
Although ED experience from UK, Ireland and Canada will also be considered, if assessed by ACEM
