Guided by core values ofFairness, Empowerment, Deliberate & Purposeful action, Industriousness, and InclusivityOaktree College strives to nurture each student's potential and help them succeed in the wider Australian multicultural society.ResponsibilitiesClassroom SupportWork alongside teachers to assist students with their learning, provide one-on-one or small group support, and help manage classroom activities.Kitchen AssistanceHelp prepare and serve meals in the school kitchen, maintain cleanliness, and ensure the kitchen / dining area is tidy after meals.Facilities UpkeepAssist in setting up classrooms and common areas each day and perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe, organized learning environment.General SupportProvide additional support as needed around the school - this may include preparing learning materials, assisting with school events, or other tasks to help staff and students.Key RequirementsWorking With Children Check (WWCC) & Police CheckA valid WWCC and police clearance are required prior to commencing (or willingness to obtain them promptly).First Aid CertificationCurrent first aid certification (or willingness to obtain one - the college can assist with arranging first aid training if needed).Computer SkillsBasic computer proficiencyProfessional & Positive AttitudeA professional demeanour with a willingness to learn, a positive outlook, and a respectful approach to students and staff.Youth Engagement AbilityPatience and the ability to work effectively with students who are at risk of disengagement, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.Values AlignmentAlignment with Oaktree College's mission and values - we seek volunteers who are passionate about inclusive education and youth empowerment, and who will uphold our ethos of fairness and respect in the school community.BenefitsFlexible ScheduleThis is a volunteer position with flexible availability Monday to Friday, approximately 9 : 00am-5 : 00pm. We are willing to work with your schedule within these hours (you can commit to specific days or half-days that suit your availability).Meals ProvidedEnjoy complimentary meals on site during your volunteer days, prepared in our school kitchen.Training & DevelopmentReceive free training, including the opportunity to obtain First Aid certification if you don't already have it. We provide orientation and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role.Valuable ExperienceGain hands-on experience in an educational setting, working closely with teachers and support staff.
