Reporting to the CEO and leading a small, high-impact team, you'll embed a stewardship model of engagement that goes beyond consultation to meaningful co-creation and long-term collaboration.
You'll oversee strategic communications, sectoral leadership programs, stakeholder experiences, and membership services—making AUSMASA a go-to voice and connector within the national skills ecosystem.

Key Focus Areas Lead AUSMASA's partnership and stewardship strategy across mining, automotive, and related sectors Build and manage high-trust relationships with senior stakeholders, shaping national reform agendas and workforce initiatives Oversee strategic communications and stakeholder engagement across digital, media, and sector-facing platforms Lead AUSMASA's Member Services function and workforce advisory panels, ensuring alignment with national priorities and industry needs Represent AUSMASA at major forums and collaborate with other Jobs and Skills Councils on joint reform opportunities Drive cross-functional coordination internally ensuring engagement aligns with product development, workforce planning, and delivery streams About You You are a seasoned leader with a deep understanding of the mining, automotive or allied sectors —and you're equally comfortable in the boardroom, on the factory floor, or briefing a Minister.
You bring : Executive-level experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, or communications Demonstrated credibility with industry, government, and community leaders Experience leading reform-focused initiatives, ideally in VET, workforce, or adjacent policy areas A confident voice and strategic mind—able to build coalitions, tell powerful stories, and translate insight into action A future-focused mindset and a genuine passion for inclusive, purpose-led change About AUSMASA At AUSMASA (Mining and Automotive Skills Alliance), we exist to empower Australia's mining and automotive sectors through smarter, more responsive vocational education and workforce strategies.
