Mater’s Department of Palliative and Supportive Care is looking for a dedicated Academic Fellow in Palliative Medicine to join our dedicated multidisciplinary Cancer Services team. In a full time, maximum term position for 12 months from February 2026.
Are you an advanced trainee or fellow in Palliative Medicine seeking an academic role that blends high-quality clinical care with teaching, research, and professional development?
Mater Hospital Brisbane (MHB) is a level III (university) hospital with an active teaching program. MHB contains a 28 bed cancer ward for provision of integrated oncology, haematology and palliative care and a large ambulatory care facility. The co-located Mater Private Hospital (MPHB) provides private inpatient oncology facilities and the Mater Research Institute, and provides research support.
The Mater Cancer Care Centre (MCCC) offers a modern state-of-the-art facility that provides individually-personalised, comprehensive and compassionate care. The centre includes specialist suites, consultation rooms, cancer care treatment pods, palliative care, support programs and a specialised pharmacy, enabling a holistic approach to cancer care all from the one convenient location.
The Mater Palliative and Supportive Care department is a leading research trial centre, with multiple clinical trials in palliative care.
This is a unique opportunity to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients receiving palliative and supportive treatment, while also playing a key role in clinical education and research.
