Animal Attendant

• About the Role

As a result of our continued operations, we seek the support of an experienced Animal Attendant to join our team in Balmain NSW 2041.

This position is full-time, working 38 hours a week (guaranteed), plus reasonable additional hours.

• Salary
• 70,000 to $80,000 per annum (plus super)
• Main Tasks

Amidst other key duties, the person filling this position will be responsible for :

• Ensuring a high standard of animal housing is maintained at all times, including clean and disinfect accommodation, bedding and exercise yards;
• Preparing, transporting, feeding and watering animals according to their individual needs;
• Providing animals with exercise and enrichment care on daily basis;
• Monitoring animals' health, including by administering any medication and / or treating minor injuries (as well as seeking veterinarian's assistance, if necessary);
• Monitoring sick and injured animals for unusual physical and behavioural signs; and
• Administering spa grooming activities, including flea, tick and worm prevention, when required.

Other related tasks may also apply.

• Hiring Criteria

In order to be successful, an applicant must :

• Possess a Certificate III level qualification plus 2 years' work experience, OR a Certificate IV level qualification in case of no work experience, OR 3 years' work experience in case of no formal qualification;
• Possess proven experience (and sufficient skills) with breed-specific and standard trimming practices;
• Possess strong communication skills;
• Possess a First Aid certificate;
• Be honest, motivated, reliable and responsible;
• Be willing and able to commit to permanent, ongoing employment in the long-term; and
• Be able to work autonomously and under pressure.
