About the Role

The Associate Lecturer in Early Childhood Education will prepare and deliver teaching into the University's Early Childhood Education topics, using innovations in teaching practices and technologies, with support and guidance from a more senior academic.

This position will focus on developing and enhancing the skills of pre-service teachers to effectively contribute to the early childhood workforce. A key component of this role will be supporting the introduction of three-year-old preschool programs, with an emphasis on understanding child development and implementing play-based learning approaches.

About You

The successful candidate will have knowledge and expertise in teaching children within birth-to-five early childhood settings, or the early years of school, and any expertise in early literacy and / or indigenous education would be looked on favourably. The successful candidate will also clearly demonstrate the following capabilities.

Satisfactory completion of a relevant Bachelor and / or Masters or equivalent qualification and experience in early childhood education.Relevant and contemporary clinical experience in a relevant field.Evidence of teaching experience and delivery of curriculum at a tertiary level within relevant discipline.Demonstrated experience in student assessment.Demonstrated understanding of curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.Evidence of effective use of innovations and technologies in teaching practices.Demonstrated understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research and scholarship.Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students and industry.Evidence of upholding the values and ethos of the University.
