This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, where your contributions will directly impact the success of your career and the growth of our firm.Position Overview : As a manager, you will be responsible for overseeing financial statement preparation engagements, tax compliance, advisory services, and managing a team of accounting professionals. This is a client-facing role that involves working with high-net-worth individuals, businesses, and corporations. You will lead or assist in related tax planning, ensure compliance with current tax legislation, and provide strategic insights to help clients optimize their tax positions.Key Responsibilities :
Lead financial statement preparation engagements, tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, trusts, partnerships and corporations. You will monitor client engagements from start to finish, manage client expectations, ensure deadlines are met, allocate jobs to the appropriate level of personnel, ensure billing is done quickly, and follow up after billing as appropriate.Oversee and review corporate, personal, partnership, and trust tax returns.Manage or assist with complex tax planning, including succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, divestitures and immigration and emigration issues.Collaborate with clients to develop tailored business and tax strategies that align with their business goals.Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting pronouncements, tax laws and regulations, advising clients on the implications of these changes.Supervise and mentor a team of staff accountants, providing training, feedback, and support for professional development.Review and manage the work of staff accountants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality client services. You will provide feedback, coaching, mentoring, and constructive criticism to staff accountants and encourage and challenge team members to excel and develop their skills and knowledge.Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering proactive advice.Assist with business development efforts, including networking, writing proposals, and identifying opportunities to expand services within existing client relationships.Work closely with senior management to ensure strategic objectives are met, contributing to the firm's growth and profitability.Qualifications :CPA, CA, or equivalent professional designation is required.Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or tax roles within public practice accounting.A working understanding of corporate tax, personal tax, and tax planning strategies.Strong managerial skills with experience in leading and mentoring teams.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and staff at all levels.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in tax software (e.g., TaxPrep, CaseWare) and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience in business development and client management is an asset.You are involved in your community.
